THE SITUATION

After the first 18 months of his new tenure, the CEO wanted a better way to relay business objectives and make them digestible and actionable for all employees, regardless of role. The existing strategy was robust, but lacked the clarity and connection employees needed to understand their individual impact on company growth.

To align everyone on what we were trying to achieve over the course of the three days, we shared a comprehensive agenda with desired outcomes.

WHAT WE DID

Blue Beyond worked closely with senior marketing leadership to ensure the event was aligned with business goals and the evolving organizational context. After reviewing previous offsite experiences, we tailored a three-day event designed to foster engagement, alignment, and team cohesion. This included:

 

  • Event design and execution: We crafted an agenda that balanced strategic discussions with interactive team-building activities. The event featured a mix of external and internal speakers, hands-on workshops, and collaborative ideation sessions. To build an energized atmosphere and strong emotional connections, we incorporated music, visuals, interactive components, and thoughtful details like fidget items and team image carousels.
  • Workshops and content delivery: Our team designed daily workshops to deepen the team’s understanding of strategic roles, enhance communication, and encourage collaborative problem-solving. Our graphic facilitators recorded key discussions with engaging visuals, documenting actionable insights for future use in a way that is human, compelling, and visual.
  • Logistics and experience management: We meticulously managed the logistics end to end, from the welcome reception to the final day’s activities, focusing on connection-building opportunities and games.

Over the course of the three days, we had a graphic recording professional from Blue Beyond capture learnings, insights, best practices, etc from the sessions to inform where the marketing division would go next. This included several workshops and hands-on learning sessions. 

 

OUTCOME

The offsite successfully aligned the global marketing team with the company’s broader business objectives, leaving participants with a clear understanding of their individual and collective contributions to business success. Additionally, the event: 

  • Fostered deeper relationships
  • Improved collaboration across the globally distributed team
  • Established shared norms to guide future teamwork and execution.
