THE SITUATION

After the first 18 months of his new tenure, the CEO wanted a better way to relay business objectives and make them digestible and actionable for all employees, regardless of role. The existing strategy was robust, but lacked the clarity and connection employees needed to understand their individual impact on company growth.

Transforming their quarterly “top 200” forum

  • Transitioned quarterly meetings from financial updates to strategic insights.
  • Crafted executive messaging that enhanced leader effectiveness and articulated their strategy in a human, compelling, and visual way.
  • In partnership with the C-suite and Global VP of Learning & Development, we delivered a keynote to inspire and equip leaders with insights and tools for effective strategy implementation.
  • Organized breakout sessions to personalize strategy applications for individual teams.
  • Used interactive methods such as live polling and games to deepen understanding and engagement.

Providing ongoing leader engagement:

  • Developed ‘ready to share’ post-event materials designed for leaders to quickly and effectively communicate messages and actions to their teams. After the meeting, leaders replicated strategic discussions with their teams, using these tools and resources.
  • Developed a comprehensive best practices toolkit for effective leadership communication.

Launching a company-wide engagement campaign

This campaign featured tools and resources to embed goals in everyday work, including:

  • Recognition Template: Recognize employee efforts and connect them to business outcomes.
  • Bite-Size Stories: Easy-to-digest content to foster learning and engagement company-wide.
  • Interactive Elements: Quizzes and trivia make learning the strategic direction a captivating experience.
  • Visual and Compelling Communications: Engaging designs and messaging clarify and connect strategic points.
  • Monthly Leadership Conversations: ‘Strategy Unplugged’ sessions facilitate casual, informative discussions between leaders and employees on key themes.

 

OUTCOME

Our multi-step initiative enhanced leadership alignment and line of sight into business strategy across the company, as evidenced by a high Net Promoter Score and enthusiastic employee survey feedback. 

With a response rate exceeding 60%, survey takers praised the keynote as the “most engaging and impactful of their careers.” 92% of leaders felt more equipped and motivated to empower their teams to actively contribute to the company’s success after the follow-up training sessions.
